The Carlota Caulfield papers consist of personal and professional correspondence, literary materials including typescripts, manuscripts, poetry, video cassettes, DVDs, cassette tapes, and floppy discs, and various ephemera like clippings, pamphlets, flyers, postcards, photographs, and publications that document Caulfield's career as a poet, scholar, and cultural figure.

The collection contains manuscripts and correspondence by poet Clara Niggemann.

The David L. Powell papers contain research files created for the production of the book "Ninety Miles and a Lifetime Away: Memories of Early Cuban Exiles." The collection contains audio recordings of interviews, physical and digital transcripts, manuscripts, and digital images of photographs and memorabilia, as well as permission documents collected during the interview process.

The Lydia Cabrera papers document the life and career of writer and ethnographer Lydia Cabrera, one of the 20th century’s leading writers on Cuban folklore and an internationally known chronicler of Afro-Cuban culture and religion. The materials include correspondence, manuscripts of her works, field notes, interviews, photographs, illustrations, and memorabilia. This collection also contains documentation about the restoration of several colonial buildings in Cuba.

A highlight of the collection are the libretas, or notebooks, collected by Cabrera from Santeria priests and priestesses that document rituals and religious practices of the Afro-Cuban faith. These are found in Series 3 along with her manuscripts and field notes.

Paul Levine was a former law professor and journalist who became a full-time author and published his first novel in 1990, entitled To Speak for the Dead -a book that was later turned into a screen adaptation for television. He went on to write several more legal thrillers and eventually moved to Los Angeles to become a television writer in addition to continuing his career as an author. This collection contains some of his early manuscripts, drafts, fan letters, reviews, other correspondence, and clippings related to Paul Levine and his work.

The Silvio Acosta Papers contain scrapbooks of the professional and personal life of Silvio Acosta, architect.

The Tom Austin papers include the published articles, research notes, manuscripts, drafts, correspondence, photographs, ephemera, clippings, and other materials collected and produced by the prolific Miami/South Beach writer, editor, and columnist, Tom Austin (1955-2022).
