Use for: Ambrotypes

• Photographs produced by mounting a negative (made by a variant of the wet collodion process) that is on glass with a dark backing, which makes the image appear as a positive. Came into wide use in the United States in the early 1850s.

• Publications, usually annuals, containing a variety of useful facts of miscellaneous nature, or statistical information; originally included projections of coming days, months, and holidays.

• Books with blank pages used for assembling and presenting a collection, or any unpublished sets of pages that are bound or loose-leaf and have other materials affixed to them or writing or other images made on them. The volume may have been constructed with blank pages that were intended to have materials affixed, or it may have been assembled after having had materials affixed to separate pages.

• Photographic prints having albumen as the binder; always black-and-white, though they may be toned to a monochrome hue.

• Writing made to evidence the terms and conditions, or the fact, of an accord or arrangement.

• Photographs of the earth taken from aircraft. For photographs taken from beyond the earth's atmosphere, use "space photographs." For photographs of celestial bodies or astronomical phenomena, use "astrophotographs."
