Dr. Josephine Johnson is Professor Emeritus of the University of Miami School of Communication, former Chair of the Department of Communications, and alumna of the University. Her scholarship extends from W. B. Yeats to post-modern British poets. She is a recognized solo performer throughout the country.

Josephine Johnson's papers contains documents pertaining to her work in organizing a number of poetry events in the Miami area, including the Richter Library Poetry Series and poetry recitals in Beaumont Hall presented by the University of Miami Chamber Theatre, as well as personal research materials.

The collection contains videocassettes, DVDs, film reels, clippings, letters, reports, certificates, sheet music, photos, programs, manuscripts.

This collection contains exhibit promotional materials, correspondence, periodicals, news clippings, sketchbooks, art work, photographs, audio-visual materials (VHS, CD-Rs, floppy disks, Hi8 videocassette tapes), administrative files, and other related archival materials from the local Miami artist, Karen Rifas.

This archival collection features several materials of personal interest gathered and collected by Kenneth W. Goodman, PhD, FACMI, FACE, the founder and director of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy and director of the university’s Ethics Programs and Professor of Medicine with appointments in the Department of Philosophy, School of Nursing and Health Studies and Department of Public Health Sciences. Featured within his collection are NASA press kits and press releases, particularly pertaining to the Apollo 11 moon landing, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, NASA transportation shuttles, and other related NASA projects. Furthermore, there are also political ephemera, one photograph, and one news clipping housed inside his collection.

Collection consists of author files, press photos and other photographs, organizational records, financial records, audio recordings, video recordings, and promotional materials.

Author files (8 cubic feet): manila folders containing materials related to authors who appeared or were considered as panelists.

Press photos (1 cubic foot): biographical material, handwritten and typewritten correspondence.

Photographs: candid photos of KWLS authors and attendees; some studio/posed portraits.

Organizational records (6 cubic feet): 3-ring binders containing board agendas, minutes, related correspondence, and press clippings. Financial records (3 cubic feet) tax and accounting records, grant records.

Audio recordings: approximately 75 unique audio cassettes, 20 unique DAT (digital audio tape) recordings; 100+ unique CD (compact disc) recordings 1999-2008; 85 GB unique audio stored on digital drives, 2009-2014.

Video recordings: 7 VHS cassettes.

Ephemera and other promotional materials: posters, programs, postcards, and publications.

Dr. L. A. Hodson was a Miami ophthamologist who had a strong interest in zoology. Dr. Hodson, a friend of professor of zoology and University of Miami president Jay F. Pearson, ventured on a number of trips to the Bahamas (a few times with Pearson) where he discovered a number of new species and collected hard to find species. These he donated to the University of Miami.

The L. A. Hodson collection contains clippings about these expeditions; correspondence; much of which concerns the securing of his visit, the donation, and an exhibit on the Cat Turtle that was set up at Tufts College Medical School; a photograph of Hodson taken by Pearson, and two typescripts: "The Discovery of the Cat Turtle," and "Notes on the Discovery and Biology of Two Bahaman Fresh-water Turtles of the Genus Pseudemys," the latter of which was co-written by Pearson.

Larry Thompson was a humorist and columnist who wrote and reported for the Miami Herald for 28 years. His column, "Life with Larry," tackled topics such as politics, daily life, local history, and events. This collection contains clippings of his work written by him from 1956-1973, all arranged chronologically.

The Lester L. Evans Collection contains U.S. newspaper clippings of cartoons and caricatures published during World War II. Many of the clippings are from the Chicago Sun-Times, the Times Herald,  the Times-Picayune from New Orleans, the Kansas City Star, the Detroit News, the Washington Post, the New York Times, the New York Post, and the Los Angeles Times.

The Lincoln Díaz-Balart Papers document the professional and personal activities of Lincoln Díaz-Balart in his capacity as U.S. Representative for Florida's 21st congressional district and as a member of the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. Materials in the collection include personal and legislative correspondence on issues such as education, the environment, federal and state budgets, human rights in Cuba, and immigration; and official documents on issues of immigration, international trade, Latin America and Cuba. The collection also contains press releases, audiovisual materials, photographs and clippings collected by Díaz-Balart.

Original order was retained, with papers arranged in two series: Florida House and Senate and United States Congress.

The Louinès Louinis Haitian Dance Theatre collection contains photographs, pamphlets, programs, ephemera, audio-visual materials (VHS and DVDs), clippings, correspondence, and other archival materials documenting the history of the theater and its founder, Louinès Louinis.

The bulk of the collection consists of copies of articles written by various authors about the human rights violations in Cuba. The articles were published in The Miami Herald and compiled by Suárez-Villa, professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in School of Social Ecology at the University of California. The materials also include copies of correspondence to Luis Suárez-Villa regarding the compilation of the articles.

The papers document professional activities of Luisa María Güell in capacity of an actress, singer and composer.

The bulk of material consists of clippings.  The materials also include photographs from concerts and films, covers of Guell's musical disks, Theatre programs, scrapbooks with photographs and clippings, awards, videotapes with "Homage to Edith Piaf" and "Papa Porque no Vuelves" and correspondence.

The papers consist primarily of facsimilies and copies of documents relating to colonial Cuba.

The Martha Dorn collection contains an M-Club sweater, various University of Miami publications, a portrait, newspaper clippings, and other items of memorabilia. She was a student at the university from 1936 to 1940.

The papers document activities of Matías Montes-Huidobro in a capacity of a critic, playwright and a professor of the Department of European Languages of the University of Hawaii. The materials include typescripts of Montes-Huidobro's play "Exilio," and of his essay, "Claves Significativas de la Literatura Cubana Siglos XVII, XVIII y XIX," as well as, clippings, booklets with writings by Montes-Huidobro and Theatre programs.

The Miami Beach Jaycees is a Florida chapter of the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees for short). The not-for profit organization was founded in 1920 and has provided opportunities for men and women between the ages of 18 to 40 to develop leadership skills through community service. The Junior Chamber of Commerce International Headquarters was moved to Miami Beach in 1955.

The Miami Beach Jaycees Scrapbook documents the civic activities of the Miami Beach Junior Chamber of Commerce form 1952-1954. The collection consists primarily of photographs of conventions and social activities of the organization as well as newspaper clippings, documents, and a 1952-1953 yearbook of Miami Beach Jaycee.

This collection contains news clippings, periodicals, reports, memos, correspondence, minutes, notes, research, and transcriptions pertaining to the Miami Snowplow Company.
