The papers document activities of Cuban president Fulgencio Batista Zaldivar and his son Fulgencio Rubén Batista. The papers include records and rosters of Batista Zaldivar's army, speeches given by president Batista, and letters from Batista Zaldivar to his son and to other correspondents. Batista Zaldivar founded the Institutos Cívico-Militares in Cuba and the collection includes many accounts of rural military school teachers and their experiences.

The records also include speeches, programs, invitations, and photographs from the "10 de marzo" and the "4 de septiembre" annual celebrations. Included are also articles, poems, clippings, and publications about Batista Zaldivar's resignation, exile, death, and funeral. The materials also include Fulgencio Rubén Batista's funeral memorial programs and clippings and articles and letters of interest to F. Rubén Batista.

The Fundación Padre Santana records contain correspondence sent to the Fundación Padre Santana from people in Cuba, primarily during the country's Special Period from the early 1900s to 2000s. Founded in 1993 by the Reverend Francisco Santana, the foundation provided medical aid to Cubans on the island, communicating its services through radio programs.

The Grupo Artístico Literario Abril (G.A.L.A) was founded in 1977 in Miami with the purpose of bringing together members of the literary and arts community. It became an official non-profit organization in 1982 in the state of Florida. G.A.L.A recognized many different Cuban and Latin American writers, poets, and artists from 1978 until 1997. G.A.L.A. was comprised of world renowned writers and they often paid tribute to their accomplishments. They awarded the "Agustín Acosta"award for poetry and the "GALA" award for short stories. Many newspapers around the world recognized and documented G.A.L.A.'s cultural events, lectures, conferences, recitals, and expositions held mostly in Miami, Florida.

The collection consists of newspaper clippings, correspondence, circular letters, press releases, lists of award recipients, photographs, and audio cassettes. Official records also include a constitution, by-laws, meeting minutes, and financial records.

The collection includes a substantial body of writings by George Merrick, known primarily as the founder of the city of Coral Gables in South Florida. In 1916, he married Eunice Peacock, granddaughter of Coconut Grove pioneers, Charles and Isabella Peacock. The correspondence, short stories, essays, manuscripts, poems, speeches, clippings, proposals and plans from the collection document the literary aspirations, as well as the real estate career of George Merrick.  His papers also include correspondence, clippings, photographs, scrapbooks, and ephemera from Eunice Peacock Merrick and other members of the Peacock and Merrick families. George Merrick’s close ties with the University of Miami and his contributions to the institution’s expansion are documented through correspondence, newspapers clippings, and ephemera. George Augustus Moore (1852–1933) was an Irish novelist, short-story writer, poet, art critic, memoirist and dramatist.

The George Moore Collection contains correspondence, an undated manuscript titled "Scenario," the galley proofs with corrections for his 1885 novel Mummer's Wife, and a typescript for his 1894 novel Esther Waters.

The correspondence consists of a series of letters and telegraphs between Moore and New York playwright and writer Edward Knoblauch (1874-1945), a letter from Moore to a "Nachey," several letters without a recipient name, two letters from D. M. Beth at Riverside Press Unlimited, a book printer from Edinburgh, discussing corrections on Moore's 1921 novel Heloise and Abelard.

Captain Price was a commercial airline pilot with Pan American World Airways for 32 years, and his records contain materials that span from 1940s-1990s.

Dr. George W. O'Connor was a criminal justice professor at the University of Miami, also active with the Center for Urban Studies. He also served as director of the Professional Standards Division of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

The George W. O'Connor Papers consist of documents pertaining to his work in both academia and in the public sector. Many of the papers are concerned with criminal justice, firearms control, court structure and operation, local Floridian court systems, and correctional institutions.

The collection documents Georgina Shelton's involvement in Lyceum and Lawn Tennis Club, Havana, Cuba are the most important ones in this collection. Materials also include articles about and by Hilda Perera, postcards of Mexico from 1920, programs from John J. Koubek Memorial Center, clippings, correspondence and newspaper from 1876.

Gertrude Jobes was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1907 and is the author of a number of books including One Happy Family; Dictionary of Mythology, Folklore and Symbols; Outer Space; and The Motion Picture Empire. She often contributed her poetry to anthologies and avant-garde journals. She later resided in Miami, Florida.

The Gertrude Jobes Collection contains typescripts and manuscripts by Gertrude Jobes. Included is an undated and unpublished 91 page typescript titled The Patriot and the Traitor: a tragi-comedy in three acts, an undated and unpublished typescript titled Tigers in the Bamboo Grove, assorted prose writings, and assorted poetry. Also included is biographical and genealogical data on Jobes, a sketch of Jobes,  and correspondence from the years 1965-1969, chiefly on the subject of the illness and death of her husband James A. Jobes.

The papers include correspondence mostly regarding homage to Lydia Cabrera, photographs of Giulio Blanc with Lydia Cabrera and a typescript of a poem by Virgilio Piñera.

This collection contains correspondence, manuscript drafts, notebooks, drawings, sketchbooks, photographs, planners, journals, college notebooks, and other ephemera from Gloria Grasmuck's notable life and career as an artist, writer, and translator.

Dr. Granville Fisher was the head of the Psychology department at the University of Miami, and an independent artist. He founded the Granville Galleries on Ponce de Leon and Bird Road in 1959. The Granville Fisher Collection contains materials documenting his work as a psychologist and as an artist. The collection holds two scrapbooks as well as periodicals, pamphlets, programs, certificates, awards, letters, postcards, photographs, negatives, clippings, and one illustration with poetry dedicated to his son.

This collection contains news clippings, correspondence, pamphlets, and government proceedings compiled by Gregory Bush, who served as an Associate Professor of History and Director of the Institute for Public History at the University of Miami prior to his retirement in 2018. Topics covered in this collection include anti-communism, the Cold War, Civil Rights, the Ku Kluk Klan, and the NAACP's (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) activities in South Florida.

The records document business activities of the Guantánamo Sugar Company.  The materials consist of the official records of the Guantánamo Sugar Company offices located at 120 Wall Street, New York, from 1915 through 1959.  These records include correspondence, ledgers, financial records, and other documents of this company which was the owner of the Soledad Sugar Mill, Los Caños Sugar Mill, the Isabel B. Sugar Mill and the Guantánamo Railroad Co. all located around the Guantánamo Bay.

This collection consists of the papers of H. E. Kilmer, Secretary of the San Jose Fruit Company of Alliance, Ohio, which was formed in April 1903 to establish fruit growing operations in Camagüey, Cuba.  The Company built Palm City on the north coast of that province.  The collection includes approximately 160 items, principally letters to Reverend Kilmer but also maps and incorporation documents.

Haitian Women of Miami-Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami (FANM) was founded in 1991 to work for the "social and political empowerment" of Haitian women and their families. FANM is an advocacy and social service agency in Little Haiti and serves the needs of low income women and their families as well as victims of abuse, neglect, violence, discrimination and racism.

The records include correspondence, flyers, posters and educational publications as well as photographs of rallies and events from the Haitian Women of Miami.  Scrapbooks and newspapers from Haiti and the diaspora- such as "Le Floridien" and "The Haitian Times"- document political events and ongoing activism of women organizations, immigrant activists as well as local community happenings. The collection also includes substantial documentation of the activism of one of the organization's most notable activists, Marleine Bastien.
