The papers document professional activities of Blanca Varela in capacity of a soprano.  Her vocal range from mezzosoprano to soprano coloratura allowed her to sing parts for various operas, operettas and zarzuelas Cubanas.  The materials consist of theatre programs from her performances in operas, operettas and zarzuelas mostly in the Dade County Auditorium.  The collection also includes copies of photographs representing theatre performances with Blanca Varela singing in operas, operettas and zarzuelas for Teatro Nacional in Havana and for Cuban TV.  Moreover, the collection includes published scores with Varela's notes on them, manuscripts of musical scores, manuscripts of poems, L'Elisir D'Amore with annotations, newspaper clippings, a list of her recordings , a booklet describing her biography, and one letter.

The Billy Matthews collection documents the work of Terry Miller and Terry Helbing co-founders in the 1980's of the Meridian Gay Theater Production Company in New York. The archives include typescripts, clippings, articles, contact lists, reviews, and research files on various plays, theatrical history, and playwrights. The correspondence reflects the administrative history of the Meridian Gay Theater.

The Berta Barreto de los Heros papers contain correspondence, articles and clippings of Berta Barreto de los Heros (1914-1993) relating to her involvement in the release of Bay of Pigs prisoners.

The collection includes correspondence, documents, and clippings of the negotiation and release of Cubans taken prisoner on the island after the Bay of Pigs invasion, including tapes of conversations with former prisoners. The collection also includes an album given to Barreto de los Heros signed by the members of Brigade 2506 that she helped escape after the invasion.

The Beaux Arts collection consists of scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, brochures, photographs, and magazines related to the Beaux Arts Organization and the annual Beaux Arts Festival that takes place in South Florida, which is usually co-hosted by University of Miami.

The collection documents professional activities of Baruj Salinas, Cuban painter of international fame. The materials consist of imitations of Salinas' paintings, pamphlets and clippings.

This collection contains correspondence from the Barnott family, primarily letters to and from Mary A. Barnott, the wife of Edward Barnott. The two of them were early settlers of the Biscayne Bay area in the 1870s, and the family's letters document much of the day-to-day affairs of life in Miami at the turn of the 20th century. They were also close friends with William H. Gleason, the founder of the Biscayne community, and his family, all of whose correspondence with the Barnotts can be found in this collection. Furthermore, the collection contains other archival materials, such as clippings, notes, old checks, and advertisements.

The Band of the Hour collection contains photograph albums, photographs, programs, certificates, sheet music, cards, newspaper clippings, memorabilia, plaque, posters, and other ephemera pertaining to University of Miami Frost School of Music's Band of the Hour.

The papers document professional activities of Avelino J. González, first Cuban lawyer who graduated from the University of Havana after 1959 and from the University of Miami with scholarship in 1995.  The materials include correspondence, a copy of a cover of a book  written by González, newspaper clippings, Cuba lawyer registration, photographs, negatives, a program of graduation from UM and the University of Havana diploma and grades.

The papers document the activities of the employees of El Encanto, an upscale department store in Havana before Castro's regime.  The materials include photographs, newspaper clippings, documents, correspondence, diplomas, advertising, tear sheets, store bags and envelopes and memorabilia, such as, albums of "El Encanto" and a DVD of photographs of "El Encanto".

The records document activities of Asociación Cubana de Mujeres Universitarias.  The materials include minutes, financial reports, by-laws, correspondence, election advertisements, newspaper clippings, invitations and photographs.

Research material from noted author and historian, Arva Moore Parks McCabe (1939-2020). Born in Miami, Florida, Arva had written countless books on Florida's eclectic history, including The Forgotten Frontier: Florida through the Lens of Ralph Middleton Munroe, Miami, the Magic City, and George Merrick, Son of the South Wind: Visionary Creator of Coral Gables. She also served as chief curator, interim director, and chair of the Coral Gables Museum.

This collection focuses heavily on George E. Merrick, Coral Gables, and other research topics used in her writings. It also features a large assortment of archival material: booklets, books, magazines, posters, photographs, negatives, pamphlets, postcards, maps, ephemera, newspapers, and guides about Miami and other notable cities and famous people related to South Florida.

The papers include letters from various prominent Cuban figures; among them Tomás Estrada Palma, Salvador Cisneros, Lola R. de Tió, Armando Menocal, Mario Menocal and others.  The materials also consist of newspaper clippings about sugar industry and some photographs.

The papers document the professional activities of Armando Álvarez Bravo in his capacity as an art critic for El Nuevo Herald, and as a poet, writer and professor of journalism at the Koubek Memorial Center. Bulk of material consists of typescripts of his articles for El Nuevo Herald and newspaper clippings of his articles. The material also includes typescripts of interviews conducted by Álvarez Bravo with writers and painters, correspondence, typescripts of complete collection of poems by Álvarez Bravo both published and unpublished, a conference paper and photographs from his birthday celebration. In his interviews Álvarez Bravo discusses both the artistic vision of writers and painters and their personal lives.

In October, 1963, Charles Cinnamon, public relations director of the Coconut Grove Playhouse, organized a “Left Bank” art show to publicize the opening of Irma La Douce at the Playhouse. The art show was a success and shortly thereafter the Coconut Grove Association was formed to put on an annual art festival.

In the early days, the whole community got involved, and Festival activities included an antique car parade, coconut smashing contest, concerts, and a children’s art exhibit. The Chamber of Commerce and Grove House artists helped in putting on the festival.

This juried arts festival has repeatedly been selected as the top outdoor fine arts festival in the United States, displaying the work of artists from around the world and attracting families and connoisseurs alike.

The collection contains a variety of material including correspondence, newspaper clippings, publications, press releases, administrative files, photographs, ephemera and posters from the Coconut Grove Art Festival 1963 to 2012.

The papers document activities of Antonio Hernández Travieso in capacity of a writer and a biographer of Father Félix Varela.  The materials include newspaper clippings of articles written by Hernández Travieso, as well as, articles by other authors about Hernández Travieso, pamphlets, typescripts, journals, parts of books and correspondence.

The collection contains clippings from the 1960s related to homosexuality in Cuba and its place in the Cuban Revolution from publications such as Mella and Juventud Rebelde; political and cultural pamphlets; theater and art exposition programs; 60 posters from the Consejo Nacional de Cultura, ICAIC, and the Comisión de Orientación Revolucionaria; political posters from OSPAAAL; postage stamps from 1963 to 1978; and LP records.

This collection consists of the papers of Althea “Gerry” Lister from 1935 to 1997. It contains: biographical information pertaining to Lister’s 45 year career at Pan American World Airways; “Along Air Avenues,” an unpublished manuscript that provides a detailed account of Pan Am’s maintenance and safety operations; a list of survey and inaugural flights created by Lister; a list of McCoy print purchasers and prices created by Lister; and a chronology of Pan Am’s aircraft fleet created by Lister. The papers include certificates, correspondence, photographs, and press clippings.
