This collection is arranged in eleven series (I-XI). Storage consists of document containers of varying forms and sizes as detailed below.
Series:
I Projects, Plans, and Codes
This series includes project reports, booklets, drawings, photographs, promotional materials, and regulating documents. The organization is according to place whenever possible: projects and codes in the U.S. can be found by state, projects and codes abroad can be found by country.
II Books, Anthologies, Proceedings, and Articles
This series includes a variety of publications and supporting material.
III Periodical Publications
This series includes complete and incomplete serial runs and isolated periodical volumes that contain references to the New Urbanism Movement.
IV Reports and Research
This series includes documents involving topics which transcend place: economic, environmental, and transportation-related, as well as social issues such as health.
V Works of Theory, Theses, and White papers
These are writings that propose a certain perspective on topics related to the New Urbanism. They may be papers presented, theses submitted in fulfillment of academic requirements and other academic writings.

While the current organization attempts to prepare for growth, future submittals may require the addition and/or reorganization of a Series or Subseries.
Peter Katz donated 16 boxes of New Urbanism related documents in October 2011 and another 8 boxes in November 2011.
The Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) donated 27 boxes of New Urbanist materials in January 2009. These materials await processing. In July 2012 the Congress of the New Urbanism donated 2 more boxes of CNU competition related records.
