Sub-series 1 contains the transcripts of Szulc's taped interviews with Fidel Castro and 18 of his close associates in the Cuban government held from 1984 to 1985.
This sub-series contains the typewritten transcripts of Szulc's interviews with Norberto Fuentes, a Cuban journalist and chronicler of the Cuban Revolution, and with residents of the villages of the Sierra Maestra who played central roles in assuring the survival of Fidel Castro and his companions during the first year of the guerrilla war.
Series 1, subseries 1 consists of ephemera, clippings, newsletters, publications and correspondence related to Ruston Academy in Havana. It also contains alumni directories from 1980-2012.
Subseries 1 contains correspondence related to the activities of the Ruston-Baker Educational Institution, Inc. (RBEI). Most of the correspondence is between board members, and to and from board members with lawyers, vendors and consultants doing work with the organization.
Subseries 3 contains administrative files kept by Ruston-Baker Educational Institution, Inc. on various projects and legal proceedings. These include files on application for tax exempt status, legal documents from when Ruston Academy operated in Cuba, boad member information, and documentation related to a claim submitted to the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission for Ruston Academy property confiscated in Havana, Cuba.
