The Honors Day Convocation ceremony (begun in 1960 as Academic Honors Day) was established as a celebration of academic excellence. The Convocation recognizes distinguished undergraduates from all disciplines, outstanding members of the various honor societies and honors students to be graduated with General Honors. The different colleges, schools, departments, and academic honor societies select their most outstanding graduating seniors, and the Honors Program acknowledges students who have fulfilled the requirements to be graduated with General Honors. This collection contains assorted programs from the annual Honors Day Convocation ceremonies.

This collection consists of over 300 digital images of drawings produced by First and Second year architecture students. The course content has been evolving since development in 1997 by Joanna Lombard, Professor of Landscape Architecture at the School of Architecture. Content will continue to be added to the Hometown Maps collection in perpetuity. The images are accessible through the University of Miami Libraries Digital Collections portal:

This collection consists of publications for the planning and building of Florida homes primarily, but not exclusively, targeted to returning war veterans.  The majority of the pamphlets and guidebooks in this collection were distributed through contractors, builders, and real estate agencies located primarily in the Florida region during the 1940s and 50s.

The Historical Documents Collection includes letters, deeds, bonds, receipts, orders, position appointments, writings, and other documents that are individual in nature and do not belong to any particular collection. The materials represent a number of prominent figures in the areas of art, literature, music, science, scholarship, business, law, military, politics, diplomacy, and religion. The items range in date from 1642-1977, but the bulk date from the 1760s through the 1920s. Most of the materials are American in origin, although some are from Mexico and Europe, particularly Great Britain.

Hervey Allen collection

Hervey Allen was a literature professor, poet, World War I veteran, and Trustee of the University of Miami from 1936 until 1949, the year that he died. Allen had a formative influence on the "Friends of the University" organization, as well as on Latin American studies at the University.

The collection consists of letters both by Allen and about Allen after his passing away, clippings about Allen and his writings, photographs, photocopies and typescripts of Allen's writings, and obituaries including an official University of Miami memorial.

The Herminio Portell Vilá Papers (1901-1992) include research writings, bibliographic notes, and clippings about events in Cuba and Latin America during his exile time in the United States (1960-1992) . Materials also consist of radio transcripts, audio materials of radio programs, memorabilia and correspondence of the Cuban historian and scholar Herminio Portell Vilá.  His primary research interests focused on early U.S.-Cuban relations, but his papers also include materials about those relations in the 20th century and revolutionary Cuba.

The Herman Beller Photograph Collection contains photograph of metal works done by Herman Beller's (1899-1972) Havana, Cuba-based company, Industrias Unidas de Cuba. The photographs detail works in parks, schools, and public areas and buildings all installed during the 1920s to 1950s. Several small examples of metal pieces cast by Beller are also included in the collection.

Henry Reich, Jr. papers

Henry Reich, Jr. was a poet and author, member of the American Literary League, a previous New York secretary of the Rebel Poets, and a frequent contributor to newspapers and magazines. The collection predominantly consists of Reich's correspondence, and his poetry and articles. The form of these poems and articles range include manuscripts, typescripts, clippings, scrapbook compilations, and periodicals and books in which Reich's poetry appeared. Notably, four issues of The Jewish Forum from 1927 in which Reich was published are included.

Also included are several photographs of Reich.
