Scope and content

"[Florida]. Original Photograph Album Recording The Constuction Of The Florida Overseas Railroad, ca. 1907-08. Oblong photograph album bound in red cloth boards, 10^(7/8) x 7^(3/8) in., containing approximately 102 black & white photographs on 48 black album leaves. The majority of the photos measure 3^(1/4) x 4^(1/4) in., with several others measuring 3^(1/2) x 5^(1/2) in. to 5 x 7 in. A number of photographs have been identified in small ink captions below the image. Joints of the album are cracked and the covers are worn. The photographs have been pasted onto the album pages, causing some rippling, and several of the images have been darkened with age. One of the small photographs has been clipped causing loss to a larger photograph on its verso, another appears missing. Minor spotting on some images, otherwise very sound. Housed in custom cloth slip-case." -- "Flagler's Folly" by Bartleby's Books
