"24 leaflets, tracts, and broadsides, mimeographed or offset printed on variously-colored paperstock in black and white and in colors; sizes measuring between ca. 15 x 15 cm - 37 x 54 cm. Old horizontal and/or vertical folds, light wear and creases, with brief occassional marginalia in pencil or ballpoint pen; a generally very good-near fine group. An intereseting and varied group of documents produced for and against the 'May '68' movement in Paris, distributed widely on the streets, schools, offices, and factories in the city as well as in the provinces. The May 1968 events in France were a brief but volatile period of civil unrest, punctuated by numerous protests and the largest general strike ever attempted in France, virtually bringing the entire economy to a dramatic halt. The movement produced thousands of leaflets, tracts, and other printed agit-prop, document the insurrection, strikes, and general sentiments of the students and workers involved." -Lorne Bair Books
