Scope and content

"First series: Nos. 3, 16, 17, 18, and 25; Second Series: Nos. I-III; Third series: Nos. 1, 4, 5. October 1968-June 1974. Eleven representative issues of the extremely rare and ephemeral Venezuelan journal of revolutionary art and literature, each issue composed of a single large sheet, folded to approx. 9 1/4" x 12 3/4" (unfolded size approx. 25 1/2" x 19"), with a poster image recto and text and illustrations verso, published under the editorial direction of Edmundo Aray, Efrain Hurtado, Hector Malave Mata, and Mauro Bello, featuring the works of leftist Latin American critics, poets, and journalists in a unique format, with each issue unfolding to a large monochrome poster on a revolutionary theme. Caracas, Venezuela 1968-1974. An interesting collection of this important and elusive periodical, the brainchild of the revolutionary writer, poet and filmmaker Edmundo Aray. Among the writers featured in these issues are Julio Cortazar, Efrain Hurtado, Hector Mata, Rita Valdivia, and many others. The issue for June 1974 promotes Aray's documentary film "Venezuela Tres Tiempos" and opens to a poster promoting the film." - F.A. Bernett Books
