"Owens, Charles H. Black and white pictorial map, sheet size 14 1/2 x 22 inches, folded as issued to 7 1/4 x 11 inches. Very good condition; light edge wear, small spot upper right of image. 7465th Au Engr. Corozal, Belize. Reprinted 6-1953. 'Mr. Owens was the first civilian artist to fly over the Canal Zone. This bird's-eye view of the big canal, with its inserted sketches of the locks and interesting canal zone scenes is the result.' An extremely detailed and absolutely fascinating bird's eye view map of the Panama Canal area, with many inset details of the workings of the canal and local sights. Clearly the accuracy of the map was deemed an important selling point as the endorsement from George W. Goethals the Consulting Engineer on the Canal suggests." -oldimprints.com
