Scope and content
"12 pieces. 1903-1911. An archive of twelve typed letters signed, some with autograph additions and corrections, by the American publisher and spiritualism enthusiast. On letterhead of his publishing house, Funk& Wagnall’s, Funk wrote to fellow researchers of the psychic Dr. Richard Hodgson and Prof. Hyslop, as well as to the Society for Psychical Research in Boston. His missives mention several turn-of-the-century mediums, including many who were later exposed as frauds. They primarily concern evaluating various people’s claims to being psychic mediums, as well as news coverage of spiritualism." --description from Stuart Lutz, bookseller
