Series 1 includes scripts by Iberoamerican and Hispanic playwrights that were collected by INTAR. While several of these scripts were produced by INTAR through its various theater activities, many of them were kept on file for possible production, readings, or other activities. The literary manager at INTAR maintained this collection of scripts in alphabetical order by the author’s last name, an organizational scheme that is preserved here. Included in this series is the index card file that the literary manager created and used to manage these scripts. The scripts files often include original typescripts as well as photocopies and various drafts of works. While many of the scripts in this series are original works, others are translations or adaptations carried out by Latino writers. Translations and adaptations are filed under the name of the author of the original work, noting the name of the translator or adapter.
Series 2: author files, includes clippings, scripts, correspondence, and research materials regarding Latin American and Latino playwrights and their works. While the series does not include comprehensive production files for all INTAR Theatre productions, the author files often include documents related to plays produced by INTAR and playwrights, composers, and others who worked with the Theatre. Please also refer to Series 1: scripts, for related materials. Photographs and audio and video recordings related to the Author Files and INTAR Theatre productions can be found in Series 6: photographs and audiovisual materials. Theatre catalogs and posters are in Series 7: ephemera.
Series 3 includes scripts, administrative and promotional records of INTAR’s New Works Lab.
