This folder contains letter sized copies of drawings, historic photos, maps, and other research with handwritten notes on many pages. Up front is a letter dated December 18, 2003, from Richard Shepard, as Director of the CUCD, to Maria Nardi, as Chief Planner for the City of Miami, presenting drawings from the Community Design Workshop on December 6 meant as recommendations for planning Coconut Grove.
This report and vision plan has been prepared to assist the City of Miami Department of Planning and Zoning in defining a Neighborhood Conservation District (NCD) for Coconut Grove's Village West Island District. The document is the result of a series of events in which the local community and its resource partners have come together and to identify the characteristics of the community thta are unique and important to preserve and promote as revitalization occurs.
