A small collection of articles and flyers created by the Haitian Asylum Project of Harvard Law School's immigration program. It includes information given to Haitian training participants in both Boston and Miami, an article entitled "Harvard Law Students Assist Haitian Refugees from Guantanamo Bay," and two flyers, one entilted "The Supreme Court & the Repatriation of Haitian Refugees: The Future of an Independent Judiciary by Ira J. Kurzba" and "The Haitian Asylum Project of the Harvard Law School Immigration Program, Boston Catholic Charities and Cambridge and Somerville Legal Services (CASLS) Drop In Session."

Flyers and articles: The emergency coalition for Haitian refugees

Four sheets stapled together with flyers and articles entitled as the following: "Haitians with HIV Jailed at U.S. Military Base and INS Prisons," "U.S. Camp for Haitians Described as Prison-like," by Lynne Duke, "Indignities to Haitian Refugees," "Premye Kan Konsantrasyon Pou Moun Ki Gen Viris Sida A Gouvenman Etazini Etabli," and "Emergency Coalition for Haitian Refugees." Contents within consist of several articles describing the difficulties experienced by Haitian detainees and refugees and flyers asking for donations and to gather for several meetings to prepare for an upcoming rally and march on February 22nd in front of the Brooklyn Federal Courthouse.

A collection of several informally published papers, reports, bulletins, directories, brochures, articles and other documents, surrounding the Haitian culture both in and outside of the United States. Topics of interest include reports on the Haitian diasporic communities in South Florida and their economic situations, the history of Haitian refugees and detainees, and documents discussing Haitian civil rights in the United States.

The collection also contains a selection of materials from the Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center, located in Miami, Florida. Their organization is dedicated to providing a voice for the Haitian-American community in South Florida and assisting Haitian-Americans with any needs they may have in the following areas: social services, education, economic self-sufficiency, and access to health care.

Letters, reports, and articles: Haitian refugees and detainees

A series of several letters, reports, and articles stapled together that address the prisoners being held in Guantanamo Bay. Among the documents, there is an open letter from the Emergency Coalition for Haitian Refugees, encouraging the involvement of other organizations to shut down the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay and release one Haitian refugee imprisoned in a Manhattan INS detention center for her HIV status; a copy of their report "Haitians with HIV Jailed at U.S. Military Base and INS Prisons"; a list of targets to address; several articles with the following titles: "Rally Hits Haitian HIV 'Prison Camp'" by Merle English (September 22, 1992), "Set Her Free" by Anna Quindlen, "U.S. Camp for Haitians Described as Prison-Like" by Lynne Duke, "Indignities to Haitian Refugees" (September 19, 1992), and "HIV Detention Camp erupts: US Brutalizes HIV-Positive Haitians, Charge Critics"; a letter to the US Attorney General William Barr asking for the freedom of the Haitian prisoners at Guantanamo Bay; and a letter to the Refugee Center in Miami from Michel Vilsaint, a Haitian refugees at Guantanamo (July 27, 1992).
