Biographical history
Marta Pérez was a Cuban mezzo-soprano opera singer. She performed a number of Cuban and classical opera pieces, including those of Gonzalo Roig. She was the first Cuban to sing in Milan's La Scala opera house. In 1967, she co-founded the Miami-based Hispanic theater group Pro-Arte Grateli. She also directed a number of performances.
