Pablo Chao is a Cuban American educational professional. Chao graduated from the University of Havana in 1977 with a degree in Information Sciences. After becoming active in educational issues and higher education in the Miami area in the early 1980s, Chao founded the Hispanic-American Cultural Institute of the Koubek Center of the University of Miami in 1984. With the collaboration of Dr. Julio Garcerán de Val, Chao also founded the Instituto de Profesionales Hispanos Retirados, which offered a seasonal program of conferences held at the Koubek Center.
