Ramiro Oms was a Cuban journalist and member of the Auténtico political party of president Carlos Prío Socarrás. He later became an anticommunist activist in exile, participating in numerous Cuban exile organizations.

Olson, John

John Olson was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and lived in Cuba with his family during the 1950s, where his father worked at the Royal Bank of Canada. John attended Ruston Academy from 1952 to 1953. In the summer of 1956, he worked on a cattle ranch, Palo Quemado, in Camagüey; the ranch supplied beef to the Cuban army. The Olson family was friends with Luis Vianello, a Royal Bank of Canada employee in Cuba, whose son, Raul Vianello, a Cuban Air Force pilot, died during the Bay of Pigs invasion.
