The Information Management and Systems Division focuses on the development and maintenance of digital resources and the provision of technology management services and support for the Richter Library system.
The Otto G. Richter Library, on the Coral Gables campus of the University of Miami, completed in 1962, houses collections that serve the arts, architecture, humanities, social sciences, and the sciences. It is a depository for federal and state government publications. Rare books, maps, manuscript and archival collections are housed in Special Collections, the Cuban Heritage Collection and University Archives.
Rubén Ortiz-Lamadrid was a Cuban journalist active in the 20th century. He wrote a weekly column for Havana's El Mundo newspaper and went on to host a radio show by 1933.
Ortiz-Lamadrid was also a member of Cuba's Junta Nacional de Economía, representing the country at various international conferences as well as acting as head of a section of the Ministry of Commerce.
