Rex T. Hall is an alumnus (class of 1938) of the University of Miami.  At the time of the publication, he was the Percussion Instructor at Wayne State University and Music Instructor at Detroit, Michigan, public schools.

The History Department is committed to pursuing excellence in historical and interdisciplinary scholarship, teaching, and service to the profession, the University, and the wider community. Their fine faculty of some twenty-four professors does research and teaches in many historical areas, often crossing chronological, geographic, and disciplinary boundaries. William E. Hallman was a student of the University of Miami, and he wrote a thesis titled "A History of the University of Miami: a Thesis Presented to Dr. Harold E. Briggs, Professor of Hisotry, University of Miami" in May 1943.

For over 30 years, Joseph Handleman was the president of the Handleman Company,  which specialized in sales, merchandising, and distribution of consumer goods including phonograph records.  He advised the School of Music on the development of new degree programs in Music Merchandising and Recorded Music.
