The orange harvest at Refuge Grove in Rock Ledge, now Rockledge, Florida. The photo by Seth Shear of Cocoa, shows two men on high ladders gathering oranges while others pack the fruit in crates and load them onto a horse drawn wagon. A supervisor and his dog stand by.
On the back of the photograph there are two advertisements. The first is for Shear's photograph mail order and studio business: "Landscape, Marine, and Tropical Views...the only Complete Assortment of Picturesque Views of Indian River and Lake Worth." The second is for the Clyde Steamship Co., "the Only Line between New York and Jacksonville.," and the St. Johns River Steamers (De Barry Line), Wm. P. Clyde & Co., General Agents.
