The collection contains a document titled "The O'Fallon Story," describing the history of the O'Fallon family in Santiago de Cuba from 1915 through the death of Esther O'Fallon in Los Angeles, California, in 1993. The collection also contains photographs, documents, and family ephemera, as well as a metal box that was used to collect money for the Cuban War of Independence in New York.
The Florida culinary history collection contains a wide range of materials related to Florida's rich history of food, its unique restaurants and dishes, and its domestic food production. Items within the collection include pamphlets, flyers, ephemera, periodicals, and other memorabilia originating from Florida.
The collection includes a substantial body of writings by George Merrick, known primarily as the founder of the city of Coral Gables in South Florida. In 1916, he married Eunice Peacock, granddaughter of Coconut Grove pioneers, Charles and Isabella Peacock. The correspondence, short stories, essays, manuscripts, poems, speeches, clippings, proposals and plans from the collection document the literary aspirations, as well as the real estate career of George Merrick. His papers also include correspondence, clippings, photographs, scrapbooks, and ephemera from Eunice Peacock Merrick and other members of the Peacock and Merrick families. George Merrick’s close ties with the University of Miami and his contributions to the institution’s expansion are documented through correspondence, newspapers clippings, and ephemera. The Plymouth Congregational Church records contains historical records created and maintained by the church from around the 1910s through 2010s. The collection contains (but is not limited to) church records on baptisms, weddings, and funerals; architectural drawings of the building and grounds (including the Little Schoolhouse); church bulletins; educational materials; organizational records, including minister files, records maintained by church organizations (eg. Music Committee, Women's Fellowship Circles), and information on governance; ephemera related to events; press clippings; scrapbooks, photographs; and sermons and memorial tapes.

From 1926 to 1991, Eastern Airlines had endured as one of the major and more well known airlines in the Americas. This collection captures important fragments of its long history and its influence on the airline industry through the eyes of its former employees and passengers. The materials contained within include: ephemera, 3D objects, uniforms, manuals, administrative files, photographs, albums, and other types of documents pertaining to Eastern Airlines.
Almost all items contained in this collection have been generously donated to the University of Miami by individuals donating on behalf of the Eastern Airlines Retiree Association [EARA], or former employees who have contributed to the collection on an individual basis.
This collection contains materials from the University of Miami's 75th Anniversary celebration. The materials in this collection include news clippings, memorabilia, posters, t-shirts, correspondence, general ephemera, reports, photographs, pamphlets, programs, invitations, announcements, and other materials related to the event planning among the different schools, colleges, and divisions.
Originally conceived and organized in 1925, the Coral Gables Garden Club has served the local city of Coral Gables in its planning by helping create and nurture its many gardens and beautiful landscapes. The club was founded by Eunice Peacock Merrick and Althea Merrick out of a shared love of horticulture and has grown considerably since then and maintained their commitment to civic improvement through gardening. Today, the club is composed of 150 community members who actively contribute to Coral Gables' local institutions and businesses, including providing scholarships and educational programs, as well as assisting youth-oriented gardening clubs.
Their records contain scrapbooks, meeting minutes, president papers, yearbooks, guestbooks, photographs, programs, pamphlets, news clippings, awards, ephemera, administrative documents, and other archival materials, all pertaining to the club and its various events and initiatives over the years.
The collection consists of memorabilia commemorating anniversaries and special events by the University of Miami, its schools and departments, athletic programs, student groups, and affiliated organizations. Included among the objects are medallions, cups, bags, hats, gowns, golf balls, t-shirts, parking decals, signs, logos, blankets, plush toys, collecting cards, footballs, and other assorted items.
The collection consists of two groupings of materials. The first is a donation of photographs, ephemeral documents, correspondence, and clippings related to Jewish organizations and synagogues in Cuba given by Ramón Cernuda in 2013. The second grouping contains documents, broadsides, and correspondence related to the Jewish diaspora in Cuba during the 20th century, including advertisements for Zionist gatherings and immigration and religious documentation, acquired from Libros Latinos in 2019.
This collection consists of the technical files and papers of John G. Borger (1913-2011), who served as Pan American World Airways, Inc.'s Vice President and Chief Engineer. His materials document the development and acquisition of: Boeing aircrafts, including the 377 Stratocruiser, B-707 and B-747; the Douglas DC-6B, DC-7B, and DC-7C, the DC-8 jet; the Lockheed Constellation and the L-1011; the Convair CV-240; the Dassault Falcon 20, 10, and 50; the Pratt and Whitney and Rolls Royce engines, including the JT9D; and the Supersonic Transport (SST) aircraft.
Types of materials retained in the collection include: pamphlets, programs, engineering information, studies, evaluation reports, manuals, personal notes taken by John G. Borger, lectures, typescripts, correspondence, diagrams, flight path drawings, periodicals, research, articles, ephemera, newsclippings, and 3D material objects.
The Mildred Merrick collection consists of administrative documents, organization reports, ephemera, correspondence, postcards, travel photos, audio tapes, and other items collected by Mrs. Merrick, who was a former reference and acquisition librarian at the University of Miami Libraries.
Conceived in 1932 by the original Orange Bowl Committee, the Orange Bowl was created as a popular tourism attraction for the New Year's Festival in Miami that would attract national publicity and bring more businesses and money to South Florida. This venture proved successful as the Orange Bowl celebration grew in both size and popularity, becoming a national extravaganza with their lavish parades, annual football games, and beauty pageants, all in an effort to create the "world's greatest half-time spectacle."
The first football game ever put on by the committee was in 1932 between the University of Miami Hurricanes and Manhattan College from New York City in what was then called the Festival of Palms Bowl. In 1935, the festival was renamed as the Orange Bowl and started featuring college football teams to participate based on their national rankings rather than offering a guaranteed position, and it was recognized by the NCAA as the first "official" Orange Bowl. The Orange Bowl stadium was created in 1937 to accommodate the game as well as the Miami Dolphins home games and several Super Bowls up until it was demolished in 2008, but it gained a prolific reputation as a local attraction during its lifespan in south Florida.

The William Calhoun “Bill” Baggs Papers includes thirty-one boxes of correspondence, memoranda, clippings, photographs, diaries and other materials relating to the professional career of Baggs, a newspaper journalist, editor, and political commentator from the 1940s until his death in 1969. As a columnist and editor for the Miami Daily News, Baggs developed relationships with many prominent figures. The Baggs Papers, arranged in six series, totals thirteen cubic feet of materials. In addition to incoming correspondence, the files include hundreds of carbon copies of outgoing correspondence from Baggs to a variety of local, regional, state, national, and international politicians, journalists, and others.
