During his time as a political prisoner, he wrote numerous articles and treatises on human rights in Cuba. A staunch Marxist, Hidalgo was an outspoken critic of corruption and bureaucratic excess in Cuba.</p>

It includes articles, manuscripts, correspondence, and a curriculum vitae, as well as a copy of the 'Disidente' pamphlet and a detailed list of fellow political prisoners.</p>
