Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most widely known academic honor society in the United States. The University of Miami chapter of Phi Beta Kappa was installed in 1983, The society celebrates and advocates excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. Its campus chapters invite for induction the most outstanding arts and sciences students at America’s leading colleges and universities. The Society sponsors activities to advance these studies — the humanities, the social sciences, and the natural sciences — in higher education and in society at large.

This collection includes administrative documents, news clippings, tapes (betacam and VHS), correspondence, photo albums, programs, ephemera, certificates of membership, meeting minutes, bulletins, scrapbooks, and other archival material prepared by the University of Miami chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society.
